Welcome to the Parmer Lane Library!

Visiting the library

Essentials, pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade will come to the library on a regular schedule for storytime lessons and to check out books. Older grades will have regular check out times and will schedule lessons to fit with their classroom curriculum and to work on projects.

Morning library is open between 7:05 and 7:30. Any student may visit to check out books or work on homework.  Students in third through fifth grade may participate in games or maker activities up to twice a week if there is space available.

During the school day, students may also visit the library individually to check out new books with teacher permission.

Ebooks and digital audiobooks

Log into ClassLink to get to Sora, Tumblebooks, National Geographic Kids, and more!

Beanstack

PfISD schools participate in the Beanstack program, where students log their minutes to complete reading challenges. Students can log minutes at home or at school. You can access Beanstack through ClassLink. If you need assistance, please contact Ms. McCoy or your child's teacher.

Overdue and damaged books

Please help your child take care of our library books. Keep books in backpacks and away from food, drinks, pets, and younger children. This helps them come back to school everyday so students can read or return them and reduces damage. Please notify me right away if anything happens to your child’s book so that I can try to repair it. Please do not try to repair books yourself.

Students can keep books for two weeks. Students cannot check out new books until until they take care of overdue or damaged books. I will save books students choose for three school days.

There are no fines for overdue books, but if you cannot find a book or it has been damaged, you will have to pay for repair or replacement. You can create an account and pay from the Web Store on the district’s Parents tab. Payments in cash must be for the exact amount, because I do not have change. Refunds can be issued for payments over $5 if the materials are found and returned in good condition within one year of the payment (not including online fees). We can also make arrangements to reduce a fine or for a student to work it off if you contact me.

Parent Accounts

Would you like to check out additional books to share with your children at home? Contact me to set up your own account! You can sign in to brows in the library or email your request and I can send them home with your child.

Volunteers

Volunteers help our library program run smoothly, especially during book fair and other library events. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the annual background check on Volunteering in PfISD. Then contact me and we can find a way for you to participate!

If you have questions or need help, please call or email.

Stretch your mind! Read a book!
