From Our Community

My little girl has learned so much!

"My little girl has been so happy in the school, and has learned so much!

That it's a great school for kids, and that the teachers treat the students as well as the parents with respect, and kindness.

The patience that the teachers have to teach the children since I also had my older daughter go to this school. She enjoyed her time as well, and loved how kind the teachers were to her."

Diverse campus

I absolutely love the diversity at our campus. It's one of the reasons that brought be back to Parmer Lane. Students learn so much from each other and learn to appreciate different cultures.

-Elissa Steer, 4th Grade Dual Language Teacher

Small, but MIGHTY campus!

We are a "small" campus, however, MIGHTY in kindness and compassion; as well as academic success for ALL students, regardless of ability level.

Working with some amazing and dedicated teacher(s); besides understanding that teaching is a SCIENCE; they are willing to make memorable experiences for our students - such as market days and boot camp - kids truly enjoy when they see their teacher fully engaged in this EXTRA role.

I can go to my teaching colleagues in any grade to get ideas and support; we are in this TOGETHER and they are willing to support all students to succeed.

-Betsy Cisneros, Dual Language Special Education Teacher

We're a big family!

Parmer Lane feels like a big family. We all take care of each other and care about one another. I've only been working here for a little a over a year, but I was part of the family with my own children and it still has the same feel! I'm thankful for all of my lovely coworkers!

Student in graduation robes waits to enter stage

As a former student, current staff, and current parent in this district; I can’t say enough good things about the people I’ve come in contact with over the years. All of my teachers when I was a student were amazing and went above and beyond to help and be there for us. So much so, that a lot of the people I graduated with (myself included) are now friends with them.

Committees, made up of teachers from all PFISD campuses, review textbooks to determine which resources will best serve PFISD students and teachers.

In addition to committees, the public has the opportunity to review and leave feedback on resources that are being considered. Public feedback will be taken into consideration when committees and the district present recommendations to the School Board for adoption.
